INTRODUCING

The 12 Early Intervention Goals You Can Use This Week

I'm a pediatric OT running a small private practice in California, vendored with my regional center for Early Start. I write a lot of goals. These are the ones I keep coming back to.

A goal bank is a starting point, not a shortcut. Adjust every criterion to the child's assessed baseline and your payer's documentation requirements.

Here's what you get:

  • Measurable, routine-based, and written in plain language families actually understand. Free.

  • 12 ready-to-use goals across five areas

  • The three-part formula behind every one of them, with a worked example that takes a goal apart

  • Bracketed tokens for the child's name, pronouns, and criteria so you can drop in a kid and adjust

  • A short note on why occupation-focused goals hold up and skill-in-isolation goals don't

GOAL BANK- 12 GOALS

If you have ever sat down to write goals at 9pm and stared at a blank template, this is for you.

These are twelve goals I actually use with Early Start kids — three fine motor, three self-care, two emotional regulation, two sensory regulation, and two for postural stability and sitting balance. Every one of them is built the same way: name the occupation, name the skill that makes that occupation possible, then attach a number you could defend in an audit.
